Digital Revolution in Land Acquisition: Babajide Sanwo-Olu Announces Lagos State’s Milestone with e-GIS Launch

It is with great pleasure that I declare Lagos State has reached the pinnacle of land acquisition and documentation with the introduction of an electronic Geographic Information System (e-GIS), which offers digital access to all land-related information prior to the facilitation of a purchase.
The e-GIS portal is a digital platform that serves as a one-stop shop, revolutionizing and sanitizing the land acquisition, documentation, and verification process in Lagos. Since the portal went online, applications for land titles have moved from the antiquated manual paperwork to digital format, doing away with the necessity for middlemen and the expenses that went along with it.

These days, with a computer click, anyone may verify, search, and apply for land titles, including Governor’s Consent, all from the comfort of their own homes. With the use of this cutting-edge system, all land titles from the 19th century have been consolidated with historical transactional data on every piece of land in the State’s cadastral.
Our commitment to enhancing the quality of services we provide to our inhabitants is demonstrated by our efforts to establish an environment that is favorable to investors and Lagosian. The Land Registry’s workflow now incorporates land transactions in the city, which were previously completed by hand on paper, into a digital format thanks to this automated process.
